- What others have written is ok..but the basic difference between a CSU
- and a DSU is that a CSU(Channel Service Unit) controlls the timing and
- protocols between both ends of the channel- e.g. between the customer
- premises and a long distance carrier. A DSU however, controlls the timing
- and transmission between the customer premise equipment and the Channel
- itself. Both are needed and often come in one package, hence DSU/CSU.
